The dreaded lionfish- they just hang there, with so many spikes nothing bothers them.  Easily photographed or speared,  a lot of people are trying to eradicate them as an alien species.

We've been busy creating a reef underneath the boat.   Word is getting out, and local photographers are starting to line up.  It's decorative down there.

On Easter, we tried baking several different breads with Gretchen's recipes.  Sourdough wheat, white, French, and paratha roti (or buss-up-shut roti, as we have a Trini influence).  Suzanne and Gretchen are shaping a French loaf here.

Juvenile French Angelfish on a shallow reef off Nabadup.  Nice anchorage with plenty of snorkeling opportunities and (sometimes) yoga.

Blenny face!  there's somewhat of a fad going on for taking pictures of blennies.  This is my most endearing one so far, aided considerably by Photoshop.  Possibly a Spotjaw Blenny.

The seas have been so churned up that we haven't seen much lately.  But Lorenzo did spot this gorgeous thing- we think it's a flatworm of some kind.  That's his underside showing.

Some of the players at Isla Tigre's Revolucion reenactment.  On February 25th, the islands celebrate their (successful) struggle with Panama for autonomy.  Tigre's is one of the biggest, and we sailed down there with a few other boats to watch.

On the inner islands, the micro-fauna are definitely the most interesting thing to watch.  I didn't realize it till his photo was on the computer, but this guy is actually transparent.  Sun Anemone Shrimp, about an inch long.

I spotted this little moray, I was trying to hold the camera steady, and- HE BIT ME!
not recommended.

Justino Jr. had some fun with my camera yesterday.  He ran around the island taking pictures of his family and friends, his cat, etc.  He's eleven.  School starts in a few weeks- it's been nice to have all the kids around.

Here in the Robeson Islands where Justino lives, having him do some painting.  For entertainment, we go ashore and hang with the kids.

when jellies attack:  the seas are so rough right now we've been swimming in the mangroves, and seeing lots of Mangrove Upside Down Jellyfish- Cassiopea.  If you spend too long in one spot, they start to stir- and you should think about leaving.

Damselfish:  small and combative
