Swimming spot

Cypremort Point is just a 45 minute drive from here- so that's where we're swimming this week. Theoretically, it should be salt water- but the entire Mississippi is dumping into this spot, so it's a bit low on salt at the moment (ie, rainy season).  Lorenzo was excited when he found clams- lots!  But we brought some home, and it turns out they taste like mud.  Even the cats didn't know what to do with them.

Paula's new site

Paula and Ronnie told us what colors to use inside our SF house- no small feat- as everyone in my family understands, we have to TRY OUT ALL THE COLORS FIRST.  This is their ingenious business model.  They have already visited the Benjamin Moore store and painted out big samples of every plausible color.  The few that actually work are presented to the client, and held up against his kitchen wall while he decides between beige and purple.  Ronnie lobbies hard for her favorites, while Paula nurtures you through the more difficult passages.

The site has lots of pictures of our old house- a lovely treat, after looking endlessly at the inside of the boat.  Some of the more civilized interiors are John and Jeff's place, which we also worked on.

so far, work on the engine, started the hydraulics, almost finished the plumbing-

David and Rose

David Normann and Rose drove down from New Orleans on Monday, and we hung out at the boat for a while- had lunch at Bon Creole.  Exchanged perfume samples, Ann's current obsession which of course I have embraced (watch  http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/luca_turin_on_the_science_of_scent.html)  Then they were off to eat gumbo at his dad's back in Metairie.  LB was in SF for the weekend, so missed out on the fun- but did manage to address his Legal Issues.
