Evacuees

We're in Austin, listening to news- and calling any Louisiana number stored on my phone- trying to figure out when we can return. Local papers say New Iberia is one of the places still without power. So we missed Mrs. Bobby Jindal's visit to the supermarket parking lot near our house. We did not need her Meals Ready to Eat, though- Austin has a San Francisco-like array of restaurants to choose from, and we are in an eating frenzy! The cats are feasting on the leftovers.

  1. Thanks for the post -- Nick and I were just wondering what you guys had planned.

And lovely to see Cleo again. I miss her so much, and Tony, too.

New Iberia may be having problems. In fact, Nick read yesterday in the New Iberia Daily Advertiser that a pecan tree was down in someone's yard (okay, so the big deal is that it took a power line with it).

    Keep us posted.

  2. Minor corrections to the above dramatic news:

The story was in The Daily Iberian on 1st September. "Along with seven friends and family, Mergist watched as a large branch from a pecan tree in his yard fell, catching a power line and cutting out the electricity to his home"
