We're visiting some of the Kuna islands closer to the mainland- and farther from the surf.  Yesterday we were on Isla Maquina.  They're known for their molas.

molas!        molas!        yet more molas!

    the molas probably have some magical traits, which we need to know more about..... so get to work.

    originally it was body paint, until missionaries convinced them to get dressed...

    These are gorgeous, Joyce. I framed the one you gave me (a fabulous red crab), but I must say, that electric blue turtle is The One.
