This is the interior stairwell at the Whaling Museum in Sag Harbor, a good example of what happens when bored ships' carpenters build a house, everything is curved. The newel post is a work of art.
Sag Harbor has become a jewel of a town, all neat, old, and charming, and the cottages sell for millions. The harbor is large and protected so we will stay a few days. This may be our last shot at getting a real NY pizza, I'm still thinking about that corner joint at 77th and Bway.
